Throughout his career, Justice Sontchi has been engaged in evaluating companies’ actions in insolvency situations. Navigating a company through bankruptcy is complex and requires knowledge and experience. Justice Sontchi has almost 20 years of judicial experience overseeing complex reorganizations, many of which involved conflict situations. In addition, he has a reputation throughout the insolvency world for his judgment and integrity. He is well qualified to handle fiduciary responsibilities in insolvency matters. Most recently, he was appointed as the fee examiner in Celcius and SIO2 Medical Products cases.
Justice Sontchi is a leading jurist and scholar in insolvency and, since retiring from the Delaware bench, has been retained on numerous occasions as an expert. Justice Sontchi has written more than 200 opinions, as well as many scholarly articles. In addition to his years of experience as a teacher and writer, he has testified before Congress on insolvency issues. In short, Justice Sontchi not only knows the law, he knows how to explain even the most complex issues in a clear, concise, and understandable manner. As such, he is well-suited to provide expert opinions on insolvency issues. Most recently, he was engaged as an expert in the McDermott International sanction hearing in the U.K.
